Although this post is written with ladies in mind, welcome all. We all have hormones that need a little support from time to time. I know personally, I have battled with balancing my hormones my entire life. I was diagnosed with PCOS many moons ago and since then I have done much to assist my hormones via diet changes, exercise and essential oils. I have seen a dramatic difference in my mood, skin, menstrual cycle and overall hormone health. After doing much research to help support my body, I was able to put together a hormone blend that contains powerful essential oils. These essential oils individually and more importantly, collectively, truly support hormone health. Let me tell you why.

Ok, let’s dive in.
Clary Sage: Clary sage works to regulate the menstrual cycle. It helps to balance hormone levels naturally. Clary Sage helps with bloating, cramps, and mood swings. It affects the hormones of the body because it contains natural phytoestrogens, that are derived from plants. Although still inconclusive, scientific evidence is accumulating to suggest that phytoestrogens may have a role in preventing chronic disease in the body. Overall this essential oil does much to support our body.
Lavender: Our daily lives can induce so much stress. Of course not by any will of our own. This drives up cortisol levels in our system. When our adrenals are constantly producing cortisol, they stop production of lesser important hormones like estrogen and progesterone. That’s because survival will always take precedence over reproduction in times of distress. Lavender is known to decrease stress, depression and mood swings when inhaled and / or used topically. It lowers the cortisol levels that are produced by the adrenal glands. It is also an adaptogenic oil. Which means that it adapts specifically to what your body needs. If your hormones aren’t balanced, it can help increase or lower the hormones that need adjustment. Overall a power tool for your essential oil arsenal.
Bergamot: This amazing citrus oil naturally helps to balance your hormone levels by regulating the endocrine glands. This includes the regulation of ovarian hormones and insulin. Also by leveling estrogen levels, it helps the circulation of serotonin, which is the brains happy hormone. This further assists with depression. I would say this citrus oil packs a sour punch.
Geranium: This powerful oil acts as a tonic for the adrenal system. This oil particularly helps in supporting hormones through problems of PMS, menopause and infertility. It’s known to relieve stress and depression, and the reason many choose to use it during periods of heavy transition. An added bonus is its a natural diuretic and can help with the natural release of excess water from your body. This is definitely a help during our PMS season, when we retain more fluid in our system. I think this oil can wear a cape, for sure.
My blend includes other essential oils as well. Like Fennel and Cedarwood, among others. I’ll let you do your personal research on those, so you can dig deeper into the amazing properties of each of these oils.
